Perfume is a wonderful thing, there’s no denying. Using the right fragrance in the right way can truly top off the scene-stealing outfit. However, choosing between the wide range of fragrances that are available can be a rather headache inducing task.
We’ve come up with these tips to help you make the right decision, and grab the perfume you deserve.
Firstly, it’s important to remember that you should always leave it around ten minutes before you go rushing off to the till, even if the initial smell of the perfume is rather lovely. Once a scent has been sprayed onto your skin, it will actually changed due to the reaction with the smells that your skin has naturally (yes, really). This means that the smell coming out of the bottle is going to be rather different to the one that you’ll encounter after ten minutes in contact with you!
Secondly, you should always ensure that you do a fair bit of shopping around to get the right fragrance. Whilst we’re not suggesting you should automatically go for the cheapest bottle that you can (the idea of Tesco value perfume fills everyone with dread), there are so many retailers available that you should always make sure you get the very best prices that you can. Why pay more when you don’t have to?
Search the varieties. As with aftershave, there are a variety of different ‘families’ that perfumes belong to, and they are a very good way of choosing the right scent. For instance, those seeking the ideal perfume for a romantic night of passion would be well served to look at a fragrance that is part of the spice family, where as a night of summer clubbing would work better with a more fruity or floral fragrance. Needless to say, any expert out there should be able to help you.
